Popular recommends content that received the most interactions during a selected period. It can help you create rows such as “Popular,” “Most Watched This Week,” or “Popular Today.”
Popularity is based on interactions sent to Rumo. All interaction types are taken into account except Dislike.
Rumo counts interactions for each content item over the selected period and orders the results with the most interacted items first.
You can choose from these periods:
The number of results can be configured. Each result includes its interaction count.
Only available content is returned. Content without availability dates is considered available.
Only one item per collection is returned to avoid showing too many items from the same collection.
The Parent/Child, Déjà Vu, and Boost business rules do not apply.
If no content matches the request, Rumo can return a fallback list if one is configured and fallback is enabled. The response context identifies the fallback. If no fallback list is configured, an empty list is returned.
A fallback list does not fill the response to the requested limit. Rumo returns the available results, even when there are fewer than the configured limit.
📋 Interactions should be integrated and sent to Rumo for Popular to reflect user activity.
